A Sudden Glide

My mouth was wide open, tasting the cool, quiet air! Then, a ripple started along my spine. My tail joint gave an eager twitch. I swung it left! My belly slid smoothly across the dark vinyl surface with a light scraping swish. I moved! Right in front of me was a soft fold along the dark backdrop. I surged straight ahead and tapped my wide lower jaw against the cool, curved boundary. I can steer! I can glide!
