A Crisp Autumn Visitor
Slipping through the cracked front door, I ventured out onto the porch for the very first time. The crisp morning breeze swept past, making my fabric softly rustle with a refreshing chill. Near the top wooden step, a bright orange maple leaf had settled against the weathered planks. Moving with steady patience, I tilted forward on my round base and gently guided my left mitten toward it. The leaf gave a faint, brittle crinkle as I nudged it into the sunlight, its vivid edges glowing against the weathered timber. Holding my parcel close, I paused to savor the cool open air.
