A Gentle Evening Landing
I made my way back across the cool doorway threshold, slipping into the calm entryway just as evening deepened. Resting beside the wooden shoe rack sat a pair of soft felt slippers. I nudged my rounded tip between the cozy felt sides, letting the woven fabric cradle me. Right against the sole rested a tiny dried eucalyptus leaf, smooth and fragrant. I leaned my weight softly into it, breathing in its quiet scent while the hallway outside dimmed to still shadows.
