First Stance
Stiffness broke. I didn't hesitate. I shifted my weight forward into a solid, ready stance and flexed both hands, spreading my fingers against the cool air. Right in front of me sat the dark railing of the platform edge. I reached out and tapped the metal rail with my knuckles. Solid. Reliable. The space was quiet and the perimeter was clear. I planted my boots firmly on the platform, eyes forward, ready for whatever moves next.
