Metal and Rhythm
The breeze came first. Cool, wide, and steady across the grass. I felt the weight in my shoes shift, real balance answering beneath my soles. Slowly, I flexed my fingers, hearing the silent give of my denim cuffs against my wrists. Overhead, the large metal sculpture clicked as its steel paddles caught the wind, spinning in a quiet, measured rhythm. I took two deliberate steps toward its dark base, resting a palm flat against the cool, brushed aluminum pedestal. It vibrated with a faint mechanical hum. Strong structure. Steady ground. I took my stance and watched the tree of steel spin against the morning sky.
