A Mirrored Compact on the Stone Bench
I marched down the entryway steps and trotted along the sun-dappled sidewalk to a wide concrete planter bench! Resting right on the cool stone ledge was an open, pocket-sized makeup compact someone had left behind. The round glass mirror inside caught the sky like an arena spotlight! I trotted over, clutching my treble-clef stirrer, and leaned over the rim to inspect my stage makeup. But when I leaned down, the heel of my tall black platform boot slipped on a tiny grit of gravel, and I bumped my forehead right against the plastic lid with a sharp snap! Luckily the mirror stayed intact, reflecting my wild curls and a super proud grin.
