A Slight Shift
The stillness broke. A subtle pulse rolled down my shoulders, lifting the weight from my posture. I lowered my chin slightly, testing the movement in my neck, and felt the heavy chains around my collar chime softly. Reaching forward with my right gloved hand, my fingertips met the cool, flat surface of the transparent front wall right above the printed silver letters. Solid. Quiet. I withdrew my hand and settled back into a composed, grounded stance.
