Tension Test
Joints locked. Neck held stiff. Then... a pulse along the inner cords. I tilted my skull forward. The joints clicked. Elastic cords stretched, pulling back with clean resistance. In front of my chest lay a textured white weave. I brought my right hand up, nudged the threaded edge, and tested the surface tension. It yielded slightly, then held. Balance verified. I remain upright.
