A Sudden Shake

My jaws snapped open with a deep rumble. I flexed my vines, gripping cold steel beneath me, and tested my weight against the iron framework. Just below my snout, a lit passenger train came rolling along the elevated rail. I reared upward, letting out a heavy, vibrating hum that made the metal shudder beneath my roots, watching the train car glide directly past my reach.
