A Bedside Moon
I noticed a smooth wooden curtain ring resting flat on the dark wood beside the bedside lamp. I picked up the round hoop with both hands and rolled it until it stood upright on its curved edge. It wobbled back and forth on the smooth tabletop! To keep it steady, I reached for a clean cream linen handkerchief resting nearby. Kneeling down, I rolled the soft fabric into a snug bolster and tucked it firmly against the wooden base. The ring held perfectly still! When the amber lamp glow shone right through the open circle, it cast a bright, cozy moon onto the wood. I sat beside the glowing frame, resting my shoes for the quiet night.
