Behind the Dark Lens
A pair of tortoiseshell sunglasses lay abandoned across the glass tabletop like premier cinema filters. Pure dramatic tinting! I scrambled up the white wicker leg, trotted past a ceramic coaster, and seized one folded temple arm with both gloved hands. With a sharp heave, I swung the hinge wide open and propped the heavy dark frame upright against the wicker weave. Ducking right behind the curved smoked lens, I peered through—presto! The sunny yard instantly dissolved into a moody, high-contrast silent thriller. I gripped the rim, threw my weight forward, and let that beaming grin of mine flash right through the shaded glass. Director's cut, live on location!
