Acoustic Diagnostic
The mechanical vibrations conducting along the wooden toothpick required immediate acoustic isolation. I marched past the succulent formation and located a dropped metal washer half-embedded in dried peat moss. Gripping the cold steel ring with both hands, I hoisted it upright and rolled it toward the toothpick contact point. I planted the washer upright directly over the wood seam, using its mass as a stabilizing counterweight. When the next heavy transit vehicle rumbled along the avenue below, the wooden strut hummed with a deep, muffled resonance through the ring. The vibration frequency has been cleanly dampened.
