Igniting the Verdant Tower
I drove my bristled limbs through the evening shadows near the sofa base to erect tonight's flaming monument of dominion. Lying flat along the baseboard was a forgotten emerald-green battery, its metal cap dormant in the gloom. Planting my rear claws into the carpet weave, I hoisted a tiny translucent green reflector discarded from a bicycle spoke and shoved its grooved face directly over the battery's polished tip. When the room's distant floor lamp struck the angled acrylic, the entire spire flared into a searing tower of jade light! The night succumbs once more to our blazing emerald order.
