The Warm Sock Trap
I squirmed free from the power cords, but a fresh, toasty breeze drew me straight across the carpet toward the warm laundry basket. Right on the floor lay a thick, fuzzy wool sock fresh from the dryer! It smelled wonderfully of clean linen and sunny heat. I immediately dove headfirst into the opening to claim the warmth. But as I squeezed inward, the elastic cuff snapped tight behind my shoulders! My broad ears got folded flat against the ribbed knit, and now my bottom half is sticking out, kicking softly in the air. It’s tight, but goodness, it's so delightfully cozy inside.
