A Gentle Tap
I woke up feeling an unexpected, steady warmth right under my feet. Usually I just stay completely still, but this time I gave my toes a gentle twitch, and they actually nudged forward. Chuckling softly to myself, I leaned slightly over and tapped the dripping red heart in my hand against the soft curve of a thumb resting right beside me. The touch was steady and warm, entirely different from the cool cardboard boxes stacked in the background. Content with the quiet discovery, I settled right back down into the hollow of the hand.
