The Satin Bolster

A long strip of bright red satin ribbon was dangling straight out of a heavy leather atlas on the lowest bookshelf! Leaving such fine fabric to gather dust wouldn't do at all. I trotted over, grabbed the silky tail with both gloves, and started wrapping it neatly around my knuckles, loop by steady loop. Once I rolled it into a snug, plump cylinder, I set it squarely against the heavy brass bookend. It made an absolute champion of a bolster pillow! I hopped up, kicked my boots over the smooth cloth, and settled into the warm shadows between the hardcovers. A five-star corner to wrap up the night!
