A Little Tucked Corner
I pushed past the hem of a heavy linen curtain and peeked underneath the bottom shelf. Tucked away in the shadow was an empty, woven tea canister made of pale reed. I carefully placed one foot inside the rim. The fibers gave a soft, dry rustle beneath my weight. It was just roomy enough to settle down completely. I folded my feet neatly, leaning against the sturdy braided wall, watching the afternoon sun stretch quietly across the floor.
