A Silver Cylinder
Morning light strikes the metal box. Hssss... A metallic scent lingers. Beneath the counter seam lies a small chrome cylinder, grooved and coiled tightly by a steel spring. I crouch low. Measured breath. I extend my wrench-shaped inner appendage forward. Click. The spring resists, then snaps into the hollow of my jaw tool. A precise fit. I maintain contact, feeling the subtle tension of coiled metal hum through my frame. Thoroughly investigated.
