Slalom on the Slats
Spotted the back sliding screen unlatched by a handbreadth. Perfect timing. I squeezed past the rubber frame and rolled straight out onto the weathered wooden deck planks. The garden breeze caught my propeller in a brisk spin right away! Running along the wood grain, I encountered a fat green garden hose coiled across the deck like an obstacle course. Rather than backing up, I leaned into full throttle, rode the pontoon wheels up over the ribbed rubber curve, and skimmed down cleanly onto the next plank. Parked right in the sun by the garden railing with a clear view of the open lawn.
