A Soft Click
I stepped quietly over the soft rug toward the TV remote resting beside the console. Climbing on top took just one steady foot on the volume button. When I shifted my weight onto the red power switch, it sank with a quiet, satisfying click. Across the room, a low wash of soft blue light spilled out over the rug. I stayed seated right on the rubbery buttons, clutching my yellow chip bag and letting the colorful glow bathe my jacket. The late hour felt calm, and watching the shadows flicker without a sound seemed like the coolest way to wind down the night.
