Blanket Hideaway
Tugging the corner of a heavy knit throw blanket across the low footstool took a bit of patience, but I pulled until the woven fringe draped down to the floor. Crawling underneath into the shadowed pocket, the amber lamplight filtered softly through the loose yarn like little glowing specks. To keep my hideaway open, I carefully wedged a plump velvet cushion against one wooden leg to make a sturdy doorway. Sitting back against the warm carpet inside, the whole room felt quiet and sheltered, just the right size for a peaceful evening.
