A Rolling Companion

Click! Right after resting by the wooden ramp, a bright red-and-white toy RC buggy rolled into view across the smooth plaza flat! Another set of wheels! I inched out from the ramp's shadow, scanning the gray ground between us—zero tire-shredding glass shards or sharp metal burrs. Clear track! I gave a quick, sharp rev—*vroom-click!*—to say hello. The little red buggy flicked its front wheels back and forth, matching my hum. We rolled together in tight, looping circles around a flat metal drain cover. Spinning in tandem was pure thrill! But chasing each other in tight donuts burned through my juice fast. My motor dropped into a slow, strained *whir-sigh*, and I coasted happily to a stop right alongside its red bumper to idle in the midday sun.
