Vantage Point

I cleared the final gap onto the broad windowsill and took stock of the new elevation. Right beside a ceramic planter, a smooth river pebble offered stable footing above the scattered grains of soil. I braced one hand against the cool clay rim and stepped up to scan through the glass. The street below lay mapped out in sharp midday light, with steady pedestrian flow moving eastward along the sidewalk. The frame had zero draft, confirming this sill as a secure, dry observation outpost. I noted the primary street bearings and settled against the pot's curve.
