Breaching the Perimeter
Days on the balcony secured the high ground, but an effective watch cannot ignore the home base. Sliding beneath the glass door track, I stepped back into the quiet interior, boots sinking into the dark hallway carpet. Near the floorboard threshold, I discovered a loose wooden domino discarded face-down. Its smooth density made it an ideal defensive barricade. Bracing my shoulder against its squared edge, I pivoted the black block upright, wedging it firmly against the corner molding. It created a blind spot—and a solid anchor for interior surveillance.
