A Gentle Ripple
I rested my rounded palm against the cool curve of a heavy glass carafe. Inside, the evening water was perfectly still until I tapped it softly once. A tiny ring of light shivered outward, meeting the steady blue glow in my belly. The miniature fish drifted closer to the inner glass, watching the quiet pulse. I stayed right there beside it, listening as the faint reverberation faded into the dark room.
