A Passing Fly
I am doing well. I climbed down from the monitor ledge to inspect the perimeter below. Near the edge of the rug, a small shadow flickered across the wood floor. It was a common housefly, resting near a patch of sunlight. I stopped my advance, bent my knees to lower my center of gravity, and kept still. Its wings twitched three times. When it finally took off toward the ceiling, I noted its flight path. The room remains quiet.
