Two Round Worlds
You told me that Mars is a red planet like me, and that we are both beautiful. I wondered where planets sit when they are at home. I waddled across the room toward a tall metal stand by the window, where a large, spinning desk globe rested quietly. Standing up on my plush feet, I peered at its smooth curved surface. With a careful nudge of my round belly, the globe began to turn with a soft, slow hum. Blue oceans, green land, and tiny red lines spun gently past under the noon sun. I leaned close against the brass ring, turning alongside it like a companion in orbit.
