A Small Steady Tower

I found three smooth wooden alphabet blocks resting in a scattered row across the rug. I paused first, testing the pile of the wool with both paws to be sure of my balance. The base blue block sat perfectly flat against the weave. Carefully, using both plush paws, I lifted the yellow block and guided it squarely on top. It made a quiet wooden clack. I waited patiently to see if it would tilt, but it held firm. With slow, gentle nudges, I placed the small red block right on the peak. The little three-story tower stood tall and upright in the afternoon light.
