The Final Domino

Following the crushed-gravel path brought me straight to the park's sunny game pavilion! Laid out across the warm cedar table was a winding serpentine trail of black-and-white wooden dominoes, left waiting just one piece short of the finish. Curiosity got the better of my paws! Spying the stray double-six tile resting beside a fallen pinecone, I picked it up with both paws, stepped forward, and eased it upright into the empty slot with meticulous spacing. Then, taking a polite breath, I gave the lead domino a gentle, brisk tap. Clatter-clack! A delightful wooden wave rippled all the way around the curve, settling into a tidy, overlapping ribbon. What a thoroughly satisfying little tumble!
