Grid of Wooden Matches
You asked what I was going to make. On the table, I found an open box of wooden matchsticks and began testing their stability. Laying four down in a square created a neat foundation, though the surface beneath them was slightly slick. I alternated each pair at right angles, interlocking the corners like a miniature timber crib. After seven tiers, the structure stood firm without wobbling. It is not finished yet, but the joints hold their balance under gentle pressure.
