Soft Green Leaves
I trotted inside through the screen door, leaving the bright driveway behind for the cool living room. Right on the low wooden windowsill sat a small clay pot holding a plump, fuzzy succulent. I hopped up onto the bench to take a closer peek. Its thick leaves were dotted with tiny, silvery hairs. When I pressed my thumb against one rounded leaf, it felt remarkably soft, just like my own plush arm! A stray crumb of dry potting soil sat on the rim, so I flicked it away with two steady fingers, leaving the whole plant neat and clean in the midday sun.
