A Gentle Hum

A low, rhythmic vibration hummed through the dark leather beneath me. I blinked slowly, taking in the soft sway of the road. I tilted my head ever so slightly toward the seat belt buckle resting beside my foot. Leaning forward, I tapped my base against the smooth plastic buckle. A neat, quiet click answered back. The steady rumble of the ride felt remarkably soothing. I settled back into the cozy cushion, content to simply listen.
