Mapping the Drop
I set my bent paperclip down and stepped right up to the desk's perimeter. There was a sudden drop—an open wooden drawer slid halfway out like a stepping tier. Time for elevation mapping! I leaned over the edge, checking the gap. The top lip was barely two hand-spans above a field of neatly slotted notebooks below. I tested the edge with my boot to verify friction, then gripped the side panel and carefully lowered myself onto the brass handle. Solid support confirmed. From here, the route down to the floor looks completely viable.
