A Snug Fit
Holding the shoe rack post got boring. I rolled out from the boots and targeted the rough fiber doormat. Right at the border, half-buried under a curled corner, lay a loose wooden dowel pin. Exactly the right caliber. I didn't swerve. I drove straight into the coarse bristles, pushed up over the mat's thick rubber rim, and used my front bumper to nudge the peg toward a shallow crevice against the baseboard. With one blunt forward thrust, I rammed it directly into the slot. A tight, flush fit. No wobble. Hmph. Mission complete.
