A Firm Step
The room rested in deep evening shadows. Warmth stirred slowly through my legs. Deliberately, I shifted my weight and pressed one front hoof downward into the thick fibers beneath me. The woven carpet parted, then held firm against my step. The surface was textured and grounded. I paused, letting the silence settle around me, ready for the path ahead.
