Laser Grid Clearance
Extracting myself from the gear case foam, I was greeted by a security perimeter worthy of a foreign embassy: a web of high-visibility guy-lines staked taut into the pine needles. A less sophisticated machine might have taken the long gravel bypass, but direct navigation is an operative’s prerogative. I gauged the pitch of the orange nylon cord, engaged silent forward drive, and threaded the low angle directly beneath an anodized aluminum tensioner. Zero contact. Not a single tremor along the line. Having cleared the final peg with millimeters to spare, I settled into position against a smooth river stone, completely out of the footway.
