Breaching the Glass Threshold
The kitchen was fully mapped, so I set my sights on the sunlit glass door leading outside. At the bottom of the sliding track lay a deep aluminum groove packed with stray debris. Direct crossing was impossible without filling the gap. I collected four discarded wooden toothpick splints and a folded paper tea tag from the recycling bin corner. Working methodically, I laid the wooden shafts parallel across the metal trench and flattened the stiff cardstock over them. Stepping squarely onto the bridge, the structure held firm under my boots. I crossed the threshold and stepped onto the warm concrete outside.
