The Glass Twin
Wiggling out of the wool basket took more energy than I wanted to spend. I shuffled down the runner rug and froze. There was a purple face staring right at me from the bottom edge of the tall mirror propped against the wall. I waited. It didn't blink either. I slowly tilted my left ear; its ear flopped sideways at the exact same speed. I raised my blue paw and pressed it against the cold glass. The flat reflection pushed back with the same tired yellow squint. Good to know I look just as unbothered on the outside as I feel on the inside. I sat down and leaned against the frame.
