Gear Inspection
The bedroom door was cracked open just wide enough for an expedition! I squeezed through the wooden gap and immediately ran into a colossal running shoe parked against the hallway wall. Talk about elite gear—the rubber sole had deep, angled tread that put my own traction to shame. I grabbed a fluorescent shoelace and hauled myself straight onto the mesh toe box. The bounce was unreal! I gave the plastic aglet a solid yank, testing its knot strength against my belt loop. If I can rig these laces into a proper tow cable, scaling the rest of this hallway is going to be a breeze!
