Securing the Corner
A thick waffle-knit throw hung off the corner of the deep armchair, pooled into heavy folds. I gripped the ribbed hem, climbed into the crease, and tested the tension with my heel. It sank slightly, then held. I rolled a surplus flap of the knit over twice, flattening the ridges into a firm, level wedge against the armrest. It made a clean, supportive backrest just wide enough to lean into without slipping down the crevice. Sitting back, I stretched my legs out along the weave. The room has gone completely still, and this spot catches the ambient glow through the window blinds.
