A Pinch of Help

I shuffled in from the porch and found a sturdy wicker basket sitting in the warm laundry room. Right along the braided rim, a little wooden clothespin was holding on tight with its shiny wire spring. Well, I figured the little fellow might want to stretch its legs, so I grabbed both wooden tails and gave 'em a hearty squeeze. Snap! That spring kicked right back and sent the pin flipping clean through the air, clamping neat as you please onto the edge of my brown vest. Ahyuck! I patted the wooden clip right where it hung like a proper sheriff's badge. Mighty friendly little gadget once you get acquainted.
