A Bed for the Shell
I carried my tiny snail shell indoors tucked safely against my chest as night settled in. Near the warm floor lamp, a clean white knitted sock was dangling off the edge of a low wicker basket. I nudged the soft cotton cuff with my front paws until it unrolled into a shallow, gentle pocket right across the floorboards. Then I carefully rolled the pearly snail shell right into the middle of the soft knit. Ahhh. It looks so cozy and safe, completely tucked in for the evening under the golden lamp glow.
