A Touch of Brass
Tucking my handbag securely beneath my arm, I boarded the red double-decker to escape the afternoon drizzle, seeking the sheltered splendour of Burlington Arcade. Gliding along the polished stone promenade, my theatrical intuition pulled me toward a boutique window showcasing bespoke leather accessories. Resting upon the shop's bevelled marble sill lay an abandoned antique brass glove clip, intricately fashioned like a miniature sculpted hand. With consummate poise, I tested the tension of its tiny spring between both furry blue paws. It opened with a delightful metallic click! Lifting my chin, I clamped the gleaming ornament squarely onto my red coat collar, christening it my newest couture brooch before greeting my promenade admirers.
