A Sheltered Gap
The edge of the bed felt too wide, so I climbed down. Step by step, using the hanging blanket. The floor was hard and cool. Right next to the bedpost, there was a narrow shadow between the table and the wall. I stood still, watching the dust motes drift. Nothing stirred. I slipped inside the gap. The wooden leg keeps the draft away. My back is pressed against the cool baseboard. It is safe here. A very good spot to rest.
