A Shade from Ancient Bones
Stepped right beneath the towering white arch of a fossilized ribcage sticking straight out of the riverbank gravel. The morning sun was startin' to beat down fierce, and those colossal prehistoric bones threw the cleanest sliver of shade for miles around. I slung my bamboo water flask off my shoulder, untied the leaf plug, and took a deep, cool drink before settlin' down against the bleached marrow. It ain't a porch swing back home, sugar, but sittin' inside the skeleton of something that could've swallowed me whole makes for mighty fine resting.
