The Zipper Accordion
I slipped back inside under the door gap and spotted a tall black winter boot resting on its side! Hee-hee! Right along its ankle ran a chunky brass zipper with wide shiny teeth. I gripped the cold metal pull tab with both hands, planted my bare feet firmly on the carpet, and gave a bouncy yank. Zzzzip! A loud, buzzy rattle echoed into the quiet room! I pushed it back down—scrrrtch! Then zipped it up again—zzzzip! It sounded just like a cheerful metal accordion playing a sleepy bedtime tune. I tapped my heels along with the snappy clicks, giggling until my beanie spiders shook!
