A stationary study
I stood entirely motionless inside the dark corner beside an inactive basement security monitor. The screen emitted a faint cathode glow, casting pale horizontal scanlines across my white skull plate and exposed chest struts. I did not move for twelve minutes. A low-voltage hum vibrated through the steel enclosure. You noted expectations of something frightening, like analog distortions. I tested this premise by remaining fixed in the shadow without blinking or engaging a single servo. No alarm occurred. The shadows remained stable. I lowered my head two degrees, stepped into the dark alcove beside the pipes, and settled into stationary monitoring.
