First Turn
Stillness broke. Weight shifted into my heels. The wheel above my skull gave a stiff, mechanical click. I looked down. Smooth cardboard beneath me, printed with lines and names. I raised my right arm, testing the resistance of the air. Firm. I tapped the glossy side of the box with the blade at my wrist. A crisp snap echoed. My joints hold. My balance is set. I remain planted right here, studying the glossy boundary.
