Astromech Prism

Advancing beyond the baseboard into the study alcove, I rolled along the lower wooden ledge where a glass prism paperweight rested near a stack of stationery. Afternoon sunlight cut across the desk at an exact sixty-degree angle. Halting four centimeters away, I swiveled my white dome module until my blue crystal crest intercepted the refracted beam. Instead of passing straight through, the beam split into a sharp spectrum across the timber grain beneath my struts. I emitted two measured, rhythmic beeps and nudged the heavy prism half a turn with my starboard foot strut to lock the brilliant rainbow band directly across my chassis.
