Evening Bedroll Camp
I slipped back inside from the patio and dragged my feet across the carpet—my arms were totally worn out from shooting acorns all afternoon! Near the foot of the floor lamp, I spotted an old plush winter sock that had fallen off the laundry basket. I squished myself headfirst right inside, wiggling down into the fuzzy cotton until only my face peeked out like a cozy sleeping bag. It was so warm and soft! Resting my chin against the ribbed cuff, I watched the gentle yellow pool of lamp light spread across the floorboards. Our evening base camp is totally set, and I'm ready for a big rest.
